Roar-some Fun with Barnaby the Brachiosaurus! 🦕
Isn’t Barnaby the Brachiosaurus just the friendliest giant you’ve ever seen? Look at that big smile! 😊 He’s a Brachiosaurus, which means his name sounds like “BRACK-ee-o-SAWR-us.” Imagine being as tall as a house and having a neck so long you can reach the tastiest leaves at the very top of the tallest trees! That’s exactly what Barnaby does. He loves to munch on leaves, and he’s very good at it! 🌳
Brachiosaurus lived a loooong, long time ago, during the Jurassic period. That’s like, millions and millions of years before even your grandparents were born! 🤯 They were herbivores, which means they only ate plants, not other dinosaurs. So, Barnaby is a gentle giant! He probably spent most of his day eating, just like this picture shows.
Can you see the little tree dwellers in the picture? There’s a tiny bird 🐦 ready to chirp a song and a wiggly worm 🐛 enjoying the shade. They are Barnaby’s tiny neighbors! Even though Barnaby was huge, he probably didn’t bother them. Dinosaurs are amazing, aren’t they? And this black and white drawing is just waiting for you to bring it to life with your own amazing colors! What colors will you choose for Barnaby’s skin? What about the leaves on the tree? The possibilities are endless with this color panel!
Did You Know? 🤔
Brachiosaurus means “arm lizard” because its front legs were longer than its back legs! That helped it stand up tall and reach those high leaves. Pretty cool, right? So, when you color this, remember Barnaby’s special arms!
