Meet Topsy the Triceratops! 🦏

Topsy is a Triceratops, and that’s a super long name for a really awesome dinosaur! Triceratops lived a long, long time ago, even before the dinosaurs that kids usually know, like T-Rex! 🦕 Topsy had three big horns on its face, just like its name says: tri-ceratops means “three-horned face.” The two horns on top were really long, and the one on its nose was a little shorter. These horns weren’t just for looking cool; they were probably used to protect Topsy from scary predators like the Tyrannosaurus Rex! 😱

Topsy also had a giant, bony frill around its neck. This frill was like a shield! 🛡️ It might have been used to protect Topsy’s neck, or maybe it was brightly colored to help Topsy recognize its friends or scare away enemies. Scientists think Triceratops were herbivores, which means they only ate plants. 🥬 They had strong beaks, perfect for snipping tough leaves and ferns from the ground. Imagine Topsy munching happily in a prehistoric forest! 🌳
