Meet the Mighty Stegosaurus! 🦕
Did you know that the Stegosaurus lived a super long time ago, during the Jurassic period? That’s even before the T-Rex stomped around! This amazing dinosaur had a body like a big, gentle tank, but with some very cool decorations. The most famous parts of the Stegosaurus are those big, bony plates that stuck out of its back. Scientists aren’t totally sure what they were for. Maybe they helped keep the dinosaur cool in the sun, or perhaps they were used to scare away other dinosaurs. What do you think? 🤔
And don’t forget its tail! The Stegosaurus had a tail with pointy spikes on the end, called a ‘thagomizer’. This was probably its way of saying, “Stay back!” to any hungry predators. But even though it had a spiky tail, the Stegosaurus was mostly a vegetarian. It loved munching on plants, ferns, and other yummy greenery. 🌿 Just look at this friendly fella in our color panel – it looks like it’s having a grand time in a grassy field, with a little butterfly friend visiting its tail! So cute!
Imagine coloring this scene! You can make the Stegosaurus’s plates all sorts of amazing colors. Maybe they’re rainbow-colored, or perhaps they match the green grass. The butterfly could be bright yellow or pretty pink. This black and white color panel is your chance to bring this ancient creature to life with your own unique style. What adventures will you imagine for this happy Stegosaurus once it’s all colored in? Will it go on a quest for the juiciest leaves or make new friends? The possibilities are endless!
Fun Factoid! 💡
Even though the Stegosaurus was a big dinosaur, it had a brain about the size of a walnut! Can you believe it? It’s like a tiny computer in a giant body!
