Meet Pip the Cheerful Chick! 🐣

Isn’t Pip the cutest little fluffball you’ve ever seen? Pip is a happy-go-lucky chick who loves to explore the world around them. Even though this picture is black and white, you can imagine Pip’s fluffy feathers in all sorts of wonderful colors on your color panel!

Did you know that baby chicks, called chicks, hatch from eggs? 🥚 It takes about 21 days for a chick to hatch! Pip’s mom probably kept the eggs warm and safe until Pip was ready to peck its way out. That little beak isn’t just for eating seeds; it’s also super strong for breaking out of its shell!

Pip is standing near a tiny seed. Seeds are like little packets of energy for birds! They are full of good stuff to help Pip grow big and strong. What color will you make the seed on your color panel? Maybe a golden brown like a sunflower seed, or a bright red like a berry seed?

Look at those blades of grass! 🌿 Pip loves to play in the soft grass. It tickles their little feet! Sometimes, chicks like Pip will hide in the grass and play peek-a-boo. Imagine Pip’s happy chirps as they run through a field of colorful grass that you create on your color panel!

Chickens are very social animals. Pip probably has lots of brothers and sisters and loves to huddle with them for warmth. They learn important things from their mom, like where to find the best food and how to stay safe from any big shadows. Your coloring of Pip will make this scene even more cheerful!

Fun Chick Fact! 💡

Baby chicks can recognize their own mother from just a few hours old! They also have a special chirp that means “I’m hungry!” or “I’m cold!” Pip might be chirping for more seeds right now!
